Ye best be walkin’ the Birthday Plank me matey! Arrrgh!

landahoy.jpg     Happy Birthday Michael Jon!! Wow, I can’t believe you are 4 whole years old! I remember when you were in my tummy and I was sooo happy to finally meet you! Those little hands and feet..oh those feet! The same feet you still like to stick in your nose and flick your eyelashes with. I don’t know why, but you love feet. You make my giggle in the morning when you sneak in and pull back the end of my covers and ever so lightly brush your finger over my big toe. Sometimes I kick you accidentally and make you get out of my room! But you are funny and quirky and I love you so very much. I hope you enjoyed your day today! You got your Pirate Ship, a tape player/voice changer, 5 tapes to listen to, some books and bubbles, a football, and a Dot the Dog Matching game. But according to you, your favorite gift of all, is the Little People gift”card” you got in the mail from Grandpa! You can’t wait to go and pick out something fun and exciting just like big sisters Lauren and Brenna, and big brother Daniel. You have officially come out of toddlerhood and are entering the fun and new world of kid. My sweet boy Michael….Happy Birthday baby, Mama Loves you! :*

Now this is one Pirate I couldn’t possibly be scared of….all I want to do is KISS that face!! Mmmuuuwhaaa!!

Ok, so maybe not the worstest…

My sister called me today to catch up…on life. She asked me how I was doing as I haven’t been updating my blawg. I said I have been busy. She said, “You’re busy? I don’t know why, you sit around eating bon bons all day!” NOT…but it would be nice…and ok, so I don’t eat bon bons, but I do sit around waaay more than I should, therefore I wait until the last minute to do everything (end procrastination…tomorrow) and so I dropped the Birthday ball…again! I thought I totally had that covered when she came in July for the Tim/Faith concert and I got her a t-shirt. I forgot I needed to send a card and call…sheesh, high maintence maybe? Anyway, I called her on her birthday, but I didn’t send a card. I totally wanted to and I had all these plans to sit down and make her one and try to show her up because she always makes such cute cards and all…no such luck for her tho..I didn’t do it. BUT I called!! That so counts.

So Leslie calls today and asks how come Matt got a cute pink birthday cupcake but she didn’t? And my response to her was, “cuz I suck.” That pretty much sums that up and is way easier than trying to come up with a lame excuse or lying about why I didn’t send a card. All this to say….

HAPPY BIRTHDAY MY SISTER!! I LOVE YOU AND I’M SORRY YOU DIDN’T GET A CUPCAKE ON YOUR BIRTHDAY. THIS ONE IS FOR YOU!

Pine Ho’s

Jon: “Where is the remote and why can’t I ever find it?”

Michael: “Shut your big pine ho!”

Angie:(stiffled snicker)

Jon: “What is a pine ho?”

Michael: turns to me and says, “What’s a pine ho again?”

Angie and Jon: Bwwaahahahahhahahahaaaa!!

Michael: Hahahahaha

We think he was trying to say, “shut your pie hole”. I have no idea where he got that from…(whistles as I walk away..)

Yo PMS

Who the hell do you think you are? Showing up unannounced in the middle of the night! Interupting my precious beauty sleep? I do not appreciate the calling card of a pimple you left me ON MY NOSE and the extra water on my ankles. Do you really think I enjoy hearing my feet slosh? Last time I checked I didn’t exactly give you permission to take up residence in my chin, stomach, thighs, and hips. I hope you are happy. None of my clothes fit and it’s your fault!
If you are going to out stay your welcome anyway at least lay off the salt. You crave and crave, and I end up gaining 10 lbs. and that makes for a very cranky me. Also, avoid the whole face area. It’s off limits to you and your filthy friends. Oh and STOP with the HORMONES already. Seriously, do you have to change everything around?? I mean, what have I done to you? I feed you, I give you rest, I take you shopping when my pants don’t fit. I give you everything and all you ever do is cause me pain. That’s it. No more MRS. Nice Girl, we are done. I don’t ever want to see you again! Oh and don’t even think about trying to sneak back in or I will totally Midol your ass.
Kiss my bippy,
Angie

1 decade down….

Happy Birthday to my sweet girl Brenna!! You are a whole decade older and so am I. 10 Years ago today, I held you in my arms and kissed those chubby cheeks of yours. I introduced you to your big sister Lauren and your GrammaRain. I held you in my arms 24/7 because you would cry and cry. I slept on the couch with you in my arms because you only wanted your Mama. Daddy had to use his little pinkie to get you to settle down and go to sleep.

Time moved on and you grew and grew. You followed your big sister around and tried to do everything she did. You learned to walk when you were a year old and pretty much talked up a storm from as soon as you could. I haven’t been able to get you to stop talking since! I love how spunky you are. You say the funniest things at just the right moment. You are Daddy and Me all rolled into one little package! I love those big green eyes of yours and how your freckles look like angels kissed you all over your face.

I hope you had a wonderful birthday Brenna. You deserve far more than we could ever give you and we want you to know how much you are loved and mean to us. God has blessed us with you! Happy Birthday, baby.

Bippy Block

I have writers block. I don’t know what to post about.
I could tell you what I did Friday, Saturday, Sunday, and today.
I could tell you that I went to the doctor because I was sick and tired of being sick and tired.
I could tell you that I have bronchitis and an inhaler. I could tell you that Natalie’s family had lunch with us on Sunday and then we decided to go out and browse the shops for bargans and deals.
Then I could tell you Natalie and I went and had a girls day out today and got our toes done, had lunch, and then went to a salvage warehouse in Dallas today.
I could also tell you that I saw a mantle there for 175 bucks with great moudling detail on it and I wanted it bad. I wanted it bad like a bald man wants hair. *sigh* but I didn’t indulge.
I wanted to tell you how much fun I had looking around at someone elses discards with someone who knows how cool they are and sees the potential in them like I do.  I wanted to tell you that when Natalie and I hang out it’s like we’ve known each other forever and we like so many of the same things it scares me.  You should also know that she showed up in jeans and a black shirt and a black hoodie. I was wearing jeans, and was looking for my black hoodie. I am serious folks, eerie!

I could tell you how tired I am and how much I just want to go crawl in bed and curl up with a good book and then go to sleep early. But that would be posting and I don’t know what to write.

You got to have a J O B if you want to buy shoes

So, I went to my second job “interview” on the wrong day. I went on Wed. and it was supposed to be Thurs. Ok, I fixed that, went on the right day, even showed up early! I walk in and he puts me to work. He loads my name and password in to the software program and shows me what he wants me to do. I am supposed to put mock orders into the system and separate the ones with double letters. When the sports teams order prints/packages of their team photos, they can choose from about 50 different packages.

Scott (the pres. and CEO of the company) showed me what he wanted me to do and set me free. Okay, second time I have seen this software. It’s a totally different thing when you are looking at someone click here and click there, it’s a whole other experience to be let loose on a program you haven’t used yourself before. I did ok at first. Then I started to question what I was doing. So I asked for help. He said ask if you need help. Well because he was multi-tasking with another interviewee, I waited to ask him until I was sure I had done something wrong. Turns out I wasn’t filling out the right field, which was confusing because I saw him enter the names and team name in the same place I did. Turns out I was supposed to put the name in the name field and it would fill in the other fields automatically.

I did about 3 team packets and started on my fourth right when the other lady came in to test. I did the best I could and other than having to go back and re-do some names, I think I did as well as I could having just used the software for the first time. He said he would call next week and let me know after he has reviewed everything. I am a little impaitent that from the first interview to the actual answer if I got the job is going to end up being 3 weeks. I need to make me some money already!

Natalie and Michael came over last night. We had wings and played board games. Her boys were tired, so they left around 10 pm. We had fun. Natalie and I stayed up and chatted on IM pretty late. I think I left a butt print on the couch!

Today is another busy day. Make dinner for some friends who just had a baby, go over to Matt ‘n Debbi’s to eat and fixerate Matt’s blog and watch some Aggie fooball, and make sure I bring a good breakfast to Sunday School tomorrow.

Monday hopefully brings some time spent with my family and some time spent going salvaging with Natalie.

Happy Labor Day!!

Angie and the terrible horrible no good very bad day

Can I just whine for a while?? Please? Thanks.

It all started yesterday. Went to my appt./seminar for the Gastric Surgery and listened and filled out a bunch of paperwork. I talked with the doctor and he thinks I am a good candidate. Now normally I am not one to announce to the world how much I weigh, but this is supposed to be a place I can come and talk about almost anything. Maybe if I share with the internet, I might help someone else who is going through what I am with their weight and how to control it. My stats are as follows: I weight 301 lbs. I stand at 5′ 5″, my blood pressure was 143/93 which for me is high and the doc thinks I have undiagnosed hyperstension, my body mass index is 50.5, and he also thinks I might suffer from sleep apnea. As much as it pains me to reveal the thing I hate about myself the most, how much I weigh, I know it can only get better from here. I am asking for help and I know some way or another I will get it. Insurance might put me through the ringer, but Dr. Davidson thinks he can help me. I made an appt. for a sleep study, I will also go and talk to some other people about their experiences thru a group support meeting at the hospital next week. All in all, I learned some more about not only myself and in the Doctor’s words, that I am in “deep doo-doo” as far as my health, but I can at least say that I did something and not just sat there literally and let my weight kill me.

That really wasn’t the bad part either. Emotionally draining, yes, but cathardic in a way. Today was the killer.
I am catching a cold, my job interview isn’t until tomorrow and I showed up today. The dog came home from the Vet last night sicker than a dog (ha.) and so she had to go back this morning. She stayed all day, was given steroid shots for her soreness, and pain medicine for tonight and the next couple of days. Who would have known that going in to have your teeth cleaned could end up making you sick? I sure didn’t. The gave her all of her shots and did all sorts of tests on her for her yearly exam. Poor baby.
I almost hit a car on the way out of the parking lot at the job interview that isn’t until tomorrow. I had to take Michael to the doctor because his ear swelled to the size of cauliflower. Turns out something either stung him or bit him. Lauren has a rash, Brenna has an ulcer in her mouth, Dan got a note home from school saying he didn’t do his homework. Jon is ok, for now (knock on wood) and I went to pick Sadie up from the Vet and they tried to charge me for her medication. I said, “I don’t think so sister.” and they took it off after I explained that she wouldn’t even be here if they had just asked my permission to do the wellness exam.
I did get to take a short nap, but the kids think that it’s ok to come in and ask me dumb questions like, “Hey Mom, do you think I can go over to Cade’s house sometime?” Me: “Uh, Dan? Do you think I could think about that and get back to you? Do I have to answer you right now? BECAUSE I AM TRYING TO TAKE A NAP? DON’T YOU PEOPLE KNOW i AM SICK?” “Ahem…sorry Dan..I’ll ask Daddy later”  Haha. I can laugh now, but then…no so funny.
In fact, as I sit here writing this, Dan just walked up to me and asked me if I had talked to Dad about going to Cade’s yet? Unbelieveble!
Things are looking up though. The kids are almost in bed and there is some TV that is waiting to be watched. Then I get to go to bed. Ahhhh….love my bed. Say it with me. Beeddd. B.E.D: Beautiful eyelids dreaming.  Yep, that’s me. Night!

All smiles and bippies around here…

Wow, look how early it is. 7:41am. For those who know me well, I don’t usually get up early unless it’s Black Friday Shopping, or a mega shoe sale going on. Today is a busy day for me. Not that everyday isn’t “busy” in its own way, but I had to be up early to take Sadie the Beagle in for her dental cleaning and they have drop off between 7am and 9am. I have been looking around for her shot records hoping I would find where I stashed them. See what happens when I clean up? I can’t find stuff!!

After she gets dropped off and takes a nap while they clean her teeth I’ll be at a surgery seminar. It’s for those who want to explore the options in weight loss surgery. I have gone down this road two times before and both times I was turned down. Once by my insurance because I didn’t have enough history with weigh loss attempts and the second time I was turned down in the doctors office with the excuse that my insurance at the time wouldn’t let me. It was all very hard to accept that I wasn’t going to have that option. Now we have different insurance and with the technology more advanced these days, it seems to be a better time to explore. However, with the technology more advanced, the insurance is requiring even more “evidence” that proves you are indeed obese, have a history of obesity, and a long painful history of Doctor supervised weight loss attempts and excercise. So we’ll see how this goes and cross your fingers that my insurance company has a short list of requirements.

TTFN!
